Construction Defects In Homes

Construction shortcuts and inexperienced labor were the two major contributing factors for the construction defects in many houses in Las Vegas. Water leaks leading to cracking of interiors was a major problem.

Water intrusion takes place mainly when pipeline fails or due to leaking roofs, windows and sliding glass doors. Inadequately designed or constructed firewall is the main cause of sound transmission in attached units, which is one of the complaints of house owners. Cracked dry wall, which is another complaint, is the result of underlying soil issue.

Around 156 condominium owners in Laughlin faced roof defects, window defects, missing firewalls, electrical deficiency and plumbing failure that led to the growth of mold on the carpets and water intrusion. The developers had used cheap quality water heater valve, which corroded from Las Vegas water.

If they had used good quality valve with right quantity of zinc to resist the type of water in Las Vegas the damage could have been avoided.
