Is Las Vegas Still One Of America's Most Stressful Cities?

Sperling's BestPlaces among America's favorite research gurus, conducted a research in 2003 to find the Country most and least stressful cities. The study was based factors like unemployment rate, divorce rate, commute time, violence, property crime rates, suicide rate, alcohol consumption, self-reported "poor mental health," and number of cloudy days.

Las Vegas was fourth among the top 5 most stressful cities in USA in 2003 after Tacoma, Miami and New Orleans. Despite a robust economy, the turbulent lifestyle of Las Vegas produces some extremely stressful conditions—the highest suicide and divorce rates were reported in the country, as well as a great deal of alcohol use. Unfortunately, the greatest number of sunny days per year doesn't seem to translate to overall happiness—residents of Las Vegas have a great number of days experiencing poor mental health.
